IT’S THE LAW
Federal law in the USA states that ALL contact lenses are considered to be a prescription drug and only to be sold by any retail outlet with the approval of the customer’s eye care professional. This applies to all contact lenses, including non-prescription lenses.
The FDA and the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) have very specific guidelines on how contact lenses are sold and how the paperwork should be stored and handled.
Buy only certified USA FDA cleared lenses. Purchasing high quality contact lenses will protect your eyes, vision and health. Be aware of sub-standard lenses sold on the internet and elsewhere.
…It’s your health!
We use powerful and secure technology to reach out to your Eye Care Professional to verify your prescription. And, we keep you informed every step of the way.
The 8 Business Hour Rule
Once we reach out to the Eye Care Professional, they have 8 business hours to respond to us. If they do not respond in that time frame, the prescription is considered verified and your new lenses can be legally sold to you under the Contact Lens Rule.
What if I don’t have an Eye Doctor?
In order to legally purchase contact lenses, you must have had a visit with a licensed Eye Care Professional.
The Verification Process
After you submit your information, we will reach out to the Eye Care Professional. Once we get a response, the retailer will be notified. You will be contacted by the store to go and pick up your new lenses. We can provide approvals in as little as five minutes.
WE KNOW THE RULES AND REGULATIONS
We go to great lengths to ensure that every verification is handled in accordance with federal law. Each verification officer goes through extensive training and is fully aware of the regulations.
